Who We Are

Impact Poverty Now Inc. (IPN), dba Sustainable Sight Initiative (SSI), is comprised of a small group of volunteers passionate about breaking the link between preventable disease and poverty.

John Rectenwald, B.S., M.B.A., is SSI’s volunteer Executive Director.  John is a registered architect and technologist with interests in economic development, particularly when accompanied by significant humanitarian benefits.  He envisioned a sustainable bottom-up intervention against trachoma - African solutions for Africans.   Africans are living better lives as a result.

Jacques Ackah

Professor Jacques Ackah, Ph.D.  Highly respected researcher, biochemist and pharmacologist based in the Ivory Coast, leads our NGO partner, ONG La Compassion.  The group includes medical doctors and Ph.D.'s in related specialties.

Matthew Yansane

Matthew Yansane, B.A., M.P.A., M.F.A., and published author, leads Initiative EyeBath Guinee (IEG), our Guinean NGO partner.  Based on successful testing against various forms of conjunctivitis, IEG has arranged to sponsor a Ministry of Health trachoma drug trial in Guinea.
